Special Services at Bethany

Throughout the Church calendar year, special ceremonies help all, young and old, to understand the events of the life of Christ.

  • Lucia Fest crowning ceremonies are held at Bethany Church, traditionally the second Saturday in December.
  • Julotta: This is a traditional Swedish early morning Christmas service, with jubilant music from the belfry.
  • Ash Wednesday and Maundy Thursday center around 4 PM and 7 PM services.
  • Lenten services are held on Wednesday evenings, generally following a soup supper.
  • Good Friday in remembered with a community service and Bach's Passion according to St. Matthew.
  • Palm Sunday and Easter morning services always include special music for visitors come to town for the Bethany Oratorio performance of Handel's Messiah.
